This Privacy Policy explains how the Wild Orchid mobile application ("Wild Orchid", "the app", "we", "us") handles information. Wild Orchid is developed and operated by Douglas Davis ("the developer").
Wild Orchid is an educational and personal record-keeping ("grow diary") app for orchid growers and enthusiasts.
Wild Orchid does not collect, transmit, or share your personal information. Everything you enter — your orchid collection, care logs, diary entries, photos, custom orchids, and settings — is stored only on your device. We have no servers and we cannot see your data.
We do not collect any personal information. Wild Orchid has no user accounts, no login, and no analytics or advertising tracking.
All content you create in the app is stored locally on your device, including:
This information never leaves your device unless you choose to share it yourself (for example, by exporting or sending a photo using another app).
When you add a photo to a diary entry, the app copies that image into its own private storage on your device so it can be displayed alongside your notes. Photos are not uploaded anywhere. The app uses your device's standard photo picker or camera; you can decline these at any time.
Wild Orchid uses an internet connection only to: (1) process subscriptions through the Apple App Store, and (2) display these legal documents within the app. The app does not transmit your diary content, photos, or any personal data over the internet.
Optional premium features are offered through an Apple App Store subscription. All payments are processed by Apple, not by us. We never receive or store your payment card details or billing information. Apple's handling of your data is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
We do not share data with any third parties. The only third party involved is Apple, solely for processing optional subscription payments.
Wild Orchid is a general-audience app and is not directed at children. Because we do not collect any information at all, we do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Because your data stays on your device, it is protected by your device's own security (passcode, Face ID/Touch ID, and encryption). We recommend keeping your device and its backups secure.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
